If you’re like me you’ve seen sauteed mushrooms on the menus at the restaurants. They’re actually quite tasty – and expensive.
I thought I’d give it a shot and see if I could make them. After all, you can get mushrooms for pretty cheap! Slicing the mushrooms didn’t take very long at all. (Of course, you could also buy them pre-sliced.)
I can’t believe how easy these were to make, and oh so tasty! Why haven’t I made these before now?
Sauteed Mushrooms
1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 cup water, as needed
- Wash and slice mushrooms and place in a skillet.
- Add vinegar and sugar (you could also add minced garlic if you’d like).
- Saute mushrooms until tender. If they begin to dry out, add water as needed.
- Add soy sauce and lemon juice, heat for a few minutes, and serve immediately.
I served these as a side with roast and it made enough for both of us to have one serving. So yummy!
Serve these mushrooms with this fabulous Chipped Beef Gravy!
[…] I had, and this is what I ended up with! In an effort to add a touch of gourmet (ha!), I added my sauteed mushrooms. They were a nice touch and I’m glad I came up with that […]
it worked ok but not the best. Could taste the soya sauce do next time I’ll add less
What a great side dish! Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty
It sure is, Vickie! You’re going to love it!
