I have to give Trent credit for finding this recipe. It was in one of his fishing magazines and he wanted me to give it a try! It’s super simple and we’ll definitely make it again!
Mix together:
3 tablespoons Paprika
2 tablespoons Italian Seasoning
2 teaspoons Onion Powder
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Dredge your tilapia in 1/2 stick melted butter and then your seasoning mix, covering liberally.
Place your tilapia on the grill (I used a grill mesh similar to this one) and pour the remaining melted butter on top. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until flaky. (I’ve also pan fried this and it’s tasty that way too.)
And there you have it, Grilled, Blackened Tilapia! If you don’t have tilapia you can definitely substitute any fish that you have on-hand.

This looks delicious! Just grilled fish tonight and I wish I had looked at your site earlier. :)
You’ll definitely have to try it next time!
Your fish looks delicious. I’ll have to pick up some fish fillets the next time I’m shopping and give your recipe a try.
Thanks Shelly! It really is delicious. Enjoy!
