I found this recipe for Bread Machine Rolls over at Money Saving Mom a while back! Since the bread machine does all the work, you can pull this recipe together in a snap.
Bread Machine Rolls
1 cup warm milk (70-80 degrees)
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups bread flour
2 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
- Place ingredients in your bread machine in the order given by your instructions (mine is liquids, dry and then yeast) and run on the dough cycle.
- When the dough is complete, divide and shape into balls (20-24 for smaller rolls and 10-12 for larger rolls).
- Place on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 13-16 minutes or until golden brown.
These rolls tasted great and I put some of these puppies in the freezer so we can enjoy them later too!
OH! How did they do after they were frozen? Did you cook them before or after?
I’ve frozen the dough and cooked them before freezing and they tasted great both ways!
Thanks for stopping by!
This recipe is a weekly staple at our house. I wanted to let your readers know just how versatile it is. We don’t use sugar, and have made this recipe without it and they are just fine (buttering the tops as they come out keeps them sweet).
We have also substituted the sugar for mashed up pear with and without skins, frozen or fresh, as well as applesauce. The bread machine handles all of this just fine.
The only problem we have is that there still haven’t been any left over to freeze :-) .
Thank you again for your recipe.
Blessings,
Thanks for sharing your fabulous tips, Deborah!
I just made these and had trouble keeping them the same size. They taste great though!
Glad they tasted great, Monica!
Will bread machine yeast work fine?
I’ve never used bread machine yeast, Sherry, but I’m sure it’d work just fine. Please let me know if you try it!
I don’t have any bread flour and likely won’t be able to get any for awhile. Can I use regular flour?
Hi Donna! Yes, you can use regular flour but you’ll need to add 3/4-1 cup more.
Bread machine yeast works with any yeast dough, I’ve been using it for years, I mix it with the flour or use it like any yeast.
Thank you so much for sharing, Vicki!
These are the best. Don’t need to try any other recipe. They are perfect
So glad to hear that, Kathy. Thank you for sharing!
