There are lessons all around us, and today I'm sharing a simple life lesson I learned from a ginormous zucchini!A few days ago we pulled this ginormous zucchini from our garden! It’s quite obvious that we left it it on the plant too long!

My first thought was that I’d be able to make some Zucchini Bread with it – yummo! But when I started shredding this bad boy, it became apparent that I’d have enough to make a few loaves of Zucchini Bread and then some.

This one zucchini yielded over 6 cups of shredded zucchini, and I was able to make 8 mini loaves, 21 muffins, and 2 loaves of Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread! (Most of this will go into the freezer to enjoy later!) When I was shredding my ginormous zucchini, I knew it would yield a lot, but I had no idea I’d be able to make this much yummy goodness with one zucchini.

zucchini breadsWhat’s the point of my sharing? Well, I’m glad you asked!

I have no doubt that the Lord wants to teach us something even amidst the smallest things in life, and here’s what He taught me today as I was baking.

Let’s compare my ginormous zucchini to the talents/gifts that the Lord has given us. They are a huge part of our life, but when we use them it doesn’t take very much effort because we enjoy them so much (just like it didn’t take me long to make my bread). Just as I was blown away at the amount of bread I made from one zucchini, when we use our gifts/talents, we can make a huge impact on the lives of others.

I told you it was a simple life lesson!

So, what talent/gift do you have that you’re currently not using? Why not dust it off and make a huge impact in the world?

Too funny, Mac! Your 7 pounder was a lot bigger than mine! And great minds think alike on the zucchini muffins/bread!

I was just browsing pinterest, thinking how useless I have become, slightly depressed about my current status, I clicked your pin out of curiosity, not realizing it had a message for me that very moment. Thankyou for sharing.

Sewing is definitely a wonderful skill to have. I tried to make a dress in high school but let’s just say that had it not been for my mom, it wouldn’t have been wearable. :)

Those baby gifts are going to be fabulous gifts, and a huge blessing to the families in your church!
