This Homemade Shower Cleaner is not only super easy to make, but it doesn’t contain all of the harsh chemicals that so many other cleaners contain. I’ve used other brands for years, so I wasn’t sure how this was going to match up! I’m happy to report that it worked wonderfully and even removed some hard water stains!
Homemade Shower Cleaner
- Pour 15 ounces of vinegar into your spray bottle and heat up in the microwave. (I’m not sure what this does but you only have to heat it the first time.)
- Pour 5 ounces of soap into your bottle, place the top on and shake gently.
Depending on the size of your spray bottle, you may need to adjust the ounces used.
Start cleaning. Yes, it’s that simple!
GREAT! THANKS!

[…] Homemade Shower Cleaner […]
I just started using the same mixture (I’m also finding it a bit too soapy and will use more vinegar and less dish soap next time). I found a sponge with a refillable handle and I put the mixture right into that and keep it hanging from a hook in the bathtub so I can scrub it while I’m in there (gives me something to do while I let conditioner sit on my hair!).
I love the sponge with refillable handle idea Tonia! I’ve always heard that it’s easier to clean the shower when you’re taking a shower. I’m definitely going to have to try it!
This cleaner is super easy to make, indeed! :) I am a cleaner and I am trying to use more and more green cleaning recipes when I clean the houses of my clients. They really appreciate this so I am happy to experiment and learn more useful recipes for green cleaning products. Thank you for sharing this! I hope that it will work good!
