I thought it might be fun to share a few of my favorite things since it’s been an entire year. Yes, I’m a nerd like that and totally looked back to see how long it’s been! :O)
The Baby Companion
My OB recommended that we read The Baby Companion (along with The Pregnancy Companion) and they were for sale in her office so we picked them up at one of our many appointments last year. I haven’t read too many parenting books but both of these are great reads. I love that they intermix faith and medicine in one book!
Cool story, the doctor that co-wrote The Baby Companion was actually one of the doctors in my OB’s practice!
I know you’re probably wondering what in the heck a Fit Tube is, but bear with me.
Along with my regular chiropractor visits, my doctor has me working on my posture at home. Some of the daily exercises use Fit Tubes. This is actually a rather neat tool because it’s like a mini-gym that you can take anywhere without having to lug around weights and such.
My daily routine doesn’t take more than 7 minutes and I love that I can feel it when I’m “working out.”
My Hibiscus Plant
This is my second year in a row to buy a Hibiscus bush for my front porch. Oh how I love their beautiful flowers! Now if I could only figure out how to get them to hold on through the winters and grow back when it gets warm so I don’t have to buy one every year. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen!
Dalton’s Love for the Outdoors
In my Peek Into June post I shared with you that Dalton loves to talk about birds. Not only does he love to talk about them but he loves to sit outside and look for them too (or anything else, for that matter). I can’t tell you how fun it is to watch him! If he’s not outside he loves to sit by the front door when it’s open and check things out.
With a dad that’s a fisherman, I guess he gets it honestly. :O)
The Movie We Are Marshall
There’s not a lot of tv watching in our house because we try not to watch tv when Dalton is awake. This new habit is definitely not a bad thing!
This past Sunday afternoon I found Trent scrolling through the channels looking for things to tape on the DVR. Among the Shark Week shows (Ha!) he landed on the movie We Are Marshall. Later that night when Dalton went to bed we curled up on the couch to watch it. Man, this was such a good movie and we both thoroughly enjoyed! (And, yes, I realize that the movie is from 2006. Better late than never, right?)
