No matter what trials we face or who may hurt us, we will always be safe in the Father’s arms! Much like I did, won't you take refuge in his arms?

“I don’t love you. I never loved you.” Those were the harsh words that kept repeating over and over in my mind. How could he have married me if he’d never loved me?

Just a few months earlier he had decided to move in with his girlfriend. I was brokenhearted and spent many lonely nights in the house that we had once shared. My mind swirled with so many questions. What was wrong with me? Why didn’t he feel that I was worth fighting for?

In those moments of loneliness I would cry out to God for comfort, for anything really. But there were also moments when I longed to pray but the words just wouldn’t come. Thankfully, He showed me what to do when I didn’t know how to pray!

During those lonely days, one verse in particular resounded in my head over and over again. John 10:27-29, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” I found comfort knowing that no matter what trials I face or who may hurt me in this life, I will always be safe in the Father’s arms!

I love the words of Psalm 91:4, “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.” I would picture myself crawling up into His giant hands and letting him wrap them around me. Safe! I would find safety there! (And still do.)

I walked that difficult road over 10 years and ago. During that dark time the Lord taught me how to truly rely on Him. I now know that only He can provide true fulfillment in this life. I now know that I am worth fighting for! (And you are too.)

Oh my sweet sister, no matter what dark path you are currently walking down, I pray that you know that you’re not alone. Won’t you take refuge in the Father’s arms? Won’t you find safety under His wings? Let Him clasp you tightly in His hands and comfort you. He loves you so much and He’s waiting for you. Won’t you run to Him today?
