The preacher’s words resonated in my heart, “God will use His story, through your story, to advance the Gospel.”
He continued on by saying, “God works in us before He can work through us. We can’t have one without the other.”
Each of us has a unique story. We’ve all walked through difficulties in this life and, more than likely, we’re going to walk through a few more. God doesn’t allow us to walk through difficult times for no reason. He has a bigger plan, and it is for us to help others through sharing our story.
I’ve always said that God helped me get through my difficult seasons, and I’m going to share my story to help someone else. And, as strange as it may sound, I enjoy sharing my story. Sure, it’s difficult reliving those hard situations or sharing things I’m not proud of, but in the end I get to brag on God. I get to share how He worked in and through my life!
I love what II Corinthians 1:3-4 says, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
God allows us to walk through difficult times so that we can comfort others!
Every part of your story matters! No matter how insignificant you may think your story is, God can use it to help someone else.
When you open up yourself and are willing to share, God will use you! When you don’t think you have the words to say to someone, He’ll give them to you! (I know it sounds strange but He’s done it for me many times!)
Don’t be afraid to share your story. Use your story to help someone else!
When was the last time you shared your story? Who is God calling you to share your story with?
