As you know, I’m always on the lookout for ways to save! When my sister showed me this tip on how to save on everyday items at Target, I knew I had to share it with you.

Stop by and learn how to save on everyday items at Target. Take it from me, you'll never shop at Target the same way anymore!

Target’s Cartwheel program has been around for quite some time now, and if you follow along with my store deal posts you’ve seen me use it before.

Until a few weeks ago I’d only used Cartwheel on grocery items. Why? Because I thought you had to search through all of the deals to find one that fits the item you’re buying. (That it is definitely one way you can find deals, but call me lazy because that isn’t worth the work or time to me.) Today I’m going to show you how to use Cartwheel on everyday items that you’re buying at Target!

Here are the super simple steps you can take to find out if there are any Cartwheel deals for the items you’re plunking into your cart:

Load Cartwheel onto your smartphone and login.

To find out if there’s a Cartwheel deal for a specific item, click on the three lines at the top left of the screen.Target CartwheelYou’ll then want to click on the scan product option. A barcode scanner will open and you’ll be able to scan your product(s).

Once you scan the barcode, one of two things will happen.

An offer will pop up and you’ll be able to add/remove the deal at the bottom right of the screen.

Or you’ll receive the message that no offers were found.

You can either scan your items for extra savings as you’re perusing the aisles, or all at once right before you check out.

When you’re checking out, simply hand the cashier your phone to scan your barcode and the register will automatically deduct your savings. Yes, it’s that simple, and as long as Cartwheel is around, I’ll never shop at Target the same way anymore!

The great thing about Target’s Cartwheel program is that you can use it along with clearance items and coupons (one manufacturer and one store coupon per item)!

You may think that 5% doesn’t make that big of a difference, but it’ll definitely cover your tax. (The tax rate here is 10%, so I’ll take all the savings I can.) Plus, I’ve seen up to 20% off Cartwheel savings. Not too shabby for simply scanning a barcode!

Have you used Target’s Cartwheel program? What did you think?
