Today I’m excited to do a bit of taste-testing with a few Saffron Road products. Their products are ethnic-inspired and they specialize in all-natural, halal packaged foods.
The Chicken Tikka Masala allows you to eat your basmati rice plain or smother it with the tandoori chicken and creamy tomato sauce. (There was plenty of chicken, it’s just hidden in the sauce!)
All three of the entrees that I tried had generous portions of meat (and the pieces were nice sized). Saffron Road’s chicken is certified humane by Humane Farm Animal Care. All of their livestock are fed with 100% vegetarian feed and are never given antibiotics or hormones.
(I pulled a few pieces of the lamb meat out of this stew so that you could see their size.)
Along with their frozen entrees, they also offer hors d’oeuvres, single-serving simmer sauces, broths and savory snacks, a majority of which are also gluten-free. (I was so looking forward to trying their hors d’oeuvres but, sadly, my store didn’t carry them.)
The Chicken Pad Thai with Rice Noodles was my favorite. (What can I say, I’m a pasta girl!) The chicken is simmered in an exotic peanut sauce and that is a perfect way to describe the flavor – exotic! This was my first time tasting rice noodles and I honestly couldn’t tell the difference from regular noodles.
If you like the flavor of ethnic-inspired foods you’re going to love Saffron Road’s products!
