I’ve been off the computer for the last day and a half and I must admit that it’s been quite enjoyable. Today might be Labor Day, but I haven’t done any laboring at all. Trent has been on a fishing expedition the last couple days so I’ve been enjoying a bit of R & R! Other than resting, watching a bit of telley and reading, I haven’t done much of anything. It’s been fabulous!
So, now you know why I’m a bit late on this week’s post. :O)
This was the top of the armoire in our bedroom. I told my mom I wasn’t going to share this picture with you, but I changed my mind. My hope in sharing is to let you know that your house is not the only one with dust.
My mom recently offered to come help me deep clean my house so that it’d be in great shape before the baby came. At first I couldn’t help but think that I’m a horrible housekeeper to need deep cleaning help, but I know that’s not why she offered. Unlike me, she enjoys cleaning and just wanted to help. So, I decided to take her up on it.
Our bedroom was the room that needed the most help. We washed curtains, dusted the furniture and baseboards, cleaned out a bunch of junk, vacuumed, and she even deep cleaned our bathroom! I’d seen a few cobwebs floating around and they’d been driving me nuts, so having this room spic and span made a huge difference!
What a huge blessing it is to walk into our bedroom and not see anymore cobwebs! (Mom, thanks so much for your help!)
Please tell me I’m not the only one who has a few cobwebs floating around!
Our New Garage Cabinets
Last week I shared that about our new garage cabinets. I’m so excited to have this project finished. Home improvement projects aren’t Trent’s favorite pastime but he was such a trouper to help me with this project – not to mention the fact that doing it ourselves saved a ton of money.
Now that we have the cabinet project finished, it’s time to clean up the rest of the garage. I don’t know about your garage but we have a few areas that are catchalls. Maybe I’ll be brave enough to share before and after pictures when that project is finished.
I just have to share this story with you. As Trent and I were sitting in the waiting area, we watched expectant moms come and go. When one mom came in, I turned to Trent and asked, “Does my belly look like hers?” (He knows how self-conscious I am about how I look right now.) He paused and then shook his head no. (He’s a wise man isn’t he?)
I then laughed at my stupid question. Of course my belly looks like hers because we’re both pregnant. I turned to him and said, “There’s no right or wrong way to answer that question.” (A statement he’s said to me many a time when I ask him “stupid” questions.) He agreed with a big grin on his face.
I’m so thankful for the precious husband the Lord has given me. He’s been such a blessing dealing with my roller coaster of emotions during this pregnancy!
This award is hanging in one of our doctor’s patient rooms – this is definitely a doctor that you want on your side. She really is very compassionate and I’m so thankful that she was recommended to us!
During this month’s visit we had an ultrasound. (If you can’t quite make it out, it’s a side profile of the baby’s head.) It kinda looks like he’s practicing his pouty lips. Ha!
The doctor said that everything looks good! The baby’s estimated weight is 4 lbs 13 ounces. He’ll be here before we know it! Waaahhh! :O)
Well, that’s a peek into our week. What have you been up to this week? (Please share in the comments below.)
