Fear: You Don't Have To Face It Alone - Fear is inevitable in this life, but be comforted that you don't have to face it by yourself!

As I opened the lesson we were going teach to our small group that week, I had no idea it was going to be just for me. (Ok, I’ll admit that it spoke to the girls’ hearts too, but I know God picked that lesson for me.)

You see, fear had gripped my heart earlier that week and it didn’t want to let go! And to be honest, I was paralyzed by it. (If you’ve been paralyzed by fear, you know it’s not a fun place to be.)

Fear is inevitable and each of us must choose how we respond. If you’re like I was in that moment, a negative approach can leave you anxious, worried and feeling like God doesn’t care. But if you choose the positive approach, you’ll let the Lord calm you and give you peace.

Don’t believe me? Check out the verse that was part of my small group’s lesson!

Isaiah 43:2-3 – “But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.  When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Let those words sink in, and cling to the thought that not matter what you face in this life, you’re not alone! Don’t let fear consume you (I’m writing this to myself just as much as I am to you), but grab tightly to the Lord’s hand and don’t let go. Let Him be your rock.

He doesn’t want you to face fear alone. He wants to be right there with you, guiding you along the way.

I want to leave you with one more passage that spoke deep to my heart! Isaiah 41:10, 13 says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness… (This is my favorite part!) For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Id’ love to know how you’ve let go of fear that’s gripped your heart! (Please share in the comments below.)
