My brother-in-law grilled for the family last week! When Leah asked if we wanted to try her Espresso Steak Rub, I wasn’t sure what to think. I’m not a coffee drinker and espresso has a strong, strong flavor. I decided to go for it and give it a try. After all, who knows when I’d have another opportunity!
Espresso Steak Rub
2 tbsp. instant espresso
2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp. kosher salt
1/4 Tsp. cayenne pepper
Combine ingredients. Rub mixture over steak and let stand for 30 min. Heat a large grill or nonstick skillet over high heat. Cook 6 minutes per side (he used ribeyes) or until desired doneness.
This steak rub was delicious. The espresso wasn’t overpowering at all and gave the ribeye a wonderful flavor. Trent loved it too and has already convinced me that we need try it on chicken. We’ll see how that turns out!
