This Cinnamon Roll Bread recipe will change your life. (Stop laughing, I’m not kidding – wink) After tasting this recipe you’ll never think about making cinnamon rolls again, plus it only takes 30 minutes to make this bread! I’ve decided that there will be Cinnamon Roll Bread in Heaven!!!
Cinnamon Roll Bread
Dough Mixture
1/2 cup very warm water
1/2 tablespoon yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter OR cooking oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups flour
Streusel Mixture
1/4 cup cold butter
1/2 cup white and/or brown sugar (I used brown)
1 tablespoon cinnamon (or more if you like lots of cinnamon)
Powdered Sugar Glaze Mixture
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
Pour water in a large bowl and sprinkle the yeast and sugar over the surface. Allow to sit for a few minutes to get foamy. Add in butter/oil and salt. Stir in flour and continue adding until a stiff, but still a bit sticky, dough ball forms.
Press the dough into a greased 9″ baking pan. You’ll want to flour your fingers as you’re stretching it to the edges. Cover with a tea towel and place in a warm place (e.g. your oven at its lowest setting is fine) and let rise for 15 minutes. (This recipe only makes one 9″ pan – so I doubled it.)
While the dough is rising, combine the streusel ingredients in a small bowl and cut together (I used a fork). This makes a buttery, streusel-y type material. Set that aside.
Sprinkle the streusel mixture over the surface of the dough. It does not need to rise again. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 8-10 minutes.
While it is cooking make the glaze by mixing the ingredients together until smooth.
While it’s still warm, drizzle or pour the glaze over the bread. Slice into wedges and enjoy the flavor of fresh-baked cinnamon rolls.
