Trent was out of town all week. Every year he takes a fishing trip with his buddies and this year he headed to Michigan.

He said he had to work hard to catch these fish! (Looks like his hard work paid off because these bass are honkers!)

I’ve been blessed with a husband that works hard to provide and take care of his family so I don’t mind that he goes on these trips. But I sure do miss him while he’s gone!

My Closed Kitchen

my closed kitchen

Since Trent was out of town, I decided to close the kitchen for a few days. Other than feeding myself I didn’t do much cooking or cleaning. (I can’t believe I’m showing you a picture of my dirty dishes, but hey, I like to keep it real around here.) I must admit that it was rather nice to close the kitchen for a few days and not worry about it!

Have you ever closed your kitchen? :O)

Relationship Highs and Lows

This week I hit a few relationship speed bumps. I had some low moments (like we all do) and had to remind myself that I’m living for an audience of one.

But even amidst the lows, the Lord provided quite a few highs. I found myself encouraged by precious notes and getting together with godly friends! Hey, there’s no promise that this life is going to be easy, but I’m thankful for the rays of sunshine the Lord gives us throughout the dark moments.

Baby News

Those of you that are moms know how daunting the task of picking out a child’s name is. This is a decision that your child will live with for the rest of its life.

I looked through a baby name book and even looked online at top baby names but nothing jumped out at me. It’s a good thing that we have plenty of time to choose a name cause this may take a while!

Did you find it hard to pick your children’s names?

Yesterday my mom came over and helped me clean out the closet in the baby’s room. (I thought I took a before picture when we cleaned out the room, but obviously I didn’t.) I told her that it’s amazing how much junk stuff we accumulate in our houses. Sadly most of this stuff didn’t make its way to the trash or even donate pile but found a new home in other parts of our house!

I’m glad this project’s done. Thanks mom for your help – it would have taken me forever to do this project by myself!

And just in case you’re wondering, no, the closet isn’t yellow. It’s actually white but the lighting makes it look otherwise.

Well, that’s a peek into our week. I can’t wait to hear what you’ve gotten yourself into this week!

I feel like my kitchen has been open and closed at the same time for several days now.. Can that be possible?! Cooking and food prepping, but doing the bare minimum to clean it. Today, however, I cleaned it real good. Now, I don’t want to touch or do anything for a day or two so it’ll stay this way. On a positive note, we’ve eaten at home more this month and might be within our dining out budget for the first time in, um, a long time. So I guess a skink messy kitchen is ok! As for baby names, I feel all we could think of were boy names and a few weeks before we found out it was a boy, I just knew it was a boy and it felt so right to call him Noah. The few girl names we thought of just felt like we were pulling them out of thin air and never felt right. It’s nice you have several months to ponder and think on it, but considering that’s their name forever and ever makes it a bit nerve wracking! Good luck :)

I’m definitely the same way. Once I clean the kitchen really good I have high hopes that it’ll stay that way, for at least a couple of days!

High five to you for staying within your dining out budget!!! It’s so much easier to eat out, but it does cost a lot more.

I agree that it’s nice to have time to ponder the baby’s name. And, yes, it’s nerve wracking. Hopefully a name will jump out at us like it did with you!
